Highly entertaining
Fun trip down memory lane. Tells you everything you want to know about the cards from day one. You’ll hear from the artists, the reason GPK look like Cabbage Patch Dolls, the sales, the lawsuits, the cards that were banned and even the cast of the horrible movie, (wish those interviews were longer). If you’re an 80’s kid or even just a fan of trading cards you’ll fine entertainment here. It’s fascinating how some artists were highly skilled but took the GPK jobs anyway just for fun and had to scale back their work to fit the GPK mold. I missed the last 10 minutes since the Amazon stream ended before I could finish it…my own fault. Hope this comes to DVD or Bluray.

Sometimes the things of your childhood don’t hold up on revisiting them as an adult. But GPK cards are not one of them.
Sometimes the things of your childhood don’t hold up on revisiting them as an adult. Other times, the hidden depth is wonderfully surprising. This was the case for me with learning the origins of the infamous Garbage Pail Kids cards I loved as a kid. I had no idea that they came from such a rich and wonderful tradition of parody and cultural commentary, with amazing cartoonists like Art Spiegelman (of Maus) involved. This doc has some minor technical (camera) issues, but on the whole it is a great history and examination of a hilarious, fun and somewhat importantly subversive property. Highly recommended.

I thought this was the movie!!
I rented this with the idea that it was the movie. I am very unhappy with what I actually viewed!

SO GOOD! WOW! Loved it!
I loved this movie. I’m glad I got the DVD instead of renting or buying on iTunes because I’m able to lend it out to friends and family. Great informative documentary with a lot of heart. It reminds me of the Netflix show The Toys that Made Us. I would have liked a little better production value but good content nonetheless. Really great account of history of GPK!
