Beautiful 287 page book, lots of ideas for future exploring!
We ordered this book, so we could discover new places in the USA, that we haven’t been before. It’s a nice 7″ x 9″ sturdy book, done by National Geographic, that will hold up well with lots of research. It also has 10 Canadian Provinces included. Lots of good ideas of where and when to go, and what to see and do, hidden treasures and little known facts. We recommend this book.

Beautiful book but heavy
Gorgeous photos and great inspiration for travel, but it only includes a handful of options per state. I like that it includes Canada. Personally, I could do with less photos and more information.

Made for a great gift & surprise!
We live in WA, I purchased tickets to Chicago and put them in Illinois section and gave that as a gift so it was a nice surprise. We love traveling so this will be fun to bring with as we road trip the states! Recommend for people who have the travel bug, like me!

Very nice pictures, but not very informative on any one area.
The book has wonderful pictures, but I was hoping to find a bit more info. on each state. I love taking my granddaughters on vacation each summer and I was hoping to find something in this book that would make me want to take the girls there on our next vacation. The book only has a couple of pages about each state and nothing specific of interest to make me want to go to any state. I just took my granddaughters to the Oregon Coast for the second time and we were very busy and had a wonderful time. I wondered if we had missed any of the wonderful sights and ordered this book to see what they had listed, but found that this book had nothing of real interest listed for the Oregon Coast. For someone to go to all those states and take such wonderful pictures, I think that the least that they could do was to find out about a few of the wonderful sights in each state that would make people want to visit.

Great Idea Book
Gives snippets of each state with some history and places of interest. Not comprehensive but mostly highlights.

Bought this book to help with holiday planning of an epic road trip.Lots of good information about each state, highlights key cities and towns with points of interest. The only downside is that it doesn’t help with when to go to these states.Bit dissatisfied that it claims to tell you this on the cover, but doesn’t follow through on the inside…

I love visiting the USA & am currently working towards visiting all 50 states. Normally before I visit a new state, I spend a while searching the internet for ideas of things to see & do.I had hoped that this book would cut down my researching time (after all it does have â5000 ideasâ in the title), maybe including lists with a 100 ideas per state but this wasnât the case. It did give a spread per state, but the ideas side of things was disappointing. There were just bulky paragraphs to wade through & I certainly would be surprised if this lived up to the 5000 ideas claim.Overall, this book didnât meet my needs so I ended up returning it. What works for me when Iâm researching is bullet points or lists with minimal wording (anything that takes my fancy I can look into further). This didnât seem to be any better for that than any other guide book & certainly no better than what information you can find online. If youâre looking for more limited information for each state in one place then this maybe more suitable for you.
