Customers say
Customers find the eyeliner easy to apply and of high quality. They say it goes on smoothly and sets quickly, allowing them to apply it over eyeshadow. However, some customers mention that it’s not waterproof, which can be an issue for those with watery eyes. There are mixed opinions on the longevity, color, smudge resistance, skin irritation, and value for money.

Does not flake and very waterproof
I have used this brand and color of eyeliner for several years on my hazel to green eyes and love the slightly metallic effect of the copper shade and the ease of application and durability. It does not flake, is fluid enough to apply without creases on my mature eyes, And remains waterproof until I remove it with make up remover wipes. This is a great product as it is gentle on your eyes, the applicator tip is a soft foam, so there are no brush bristles that will splay out overtime. It has a mixing bead in the bottle so that you can easily shake it up to keep the formula mixed and apply the product to the applicator between uses. I highly recommend trying this if you are a first time user.

Been buying this eyeliner since the early 2000’s.
It used to be called “Amazing i-Liner”. I’ve tried other eyeliners over the years in a genuine effort to move on from this product, but they don’t seem to do it for me like this does. I do believe the formula has changed, as it does take reapplication of the eyeliner to get an opaque look. While it’s labeled hypoallergenic and no doubt it is, I notice fresh bottles tend to sting but leave no irritation on the skin. The applicator tip also is pretty stiff at first but once you break it in â it does work beautifully. Here’s why I’ve kept buying this eyeliner for over 20 years:1. A true matte finish.I’ve purchased “matte” eyeliners that have end up having a semi-gloss finish, or a weird sticky flakey texture. My theory is because these products attempt to waterproof the formula which sacrifice that flat matte finish. While unfortunately this Almay eyeliner isn’t waterproof and therefore not smudgeproof â there’s nothing a little finishing spray or eyeshadow primer can’t do. I’ve used both with great results during swimming and gym workouts. In my opinion, I love the true matte black and don’t mind it doesn’t have those other properties built into to it.2. A fantastic felt tip applicator.Something about the shape, material, length, and absorbency of this applicator works perfectly for my hooded eyelids. There are $20+ high-end eyeliners that just don’t get right what this $7 drugstore eyeliner can do. Some felt tips are too long and therefore hard to control, some are a thin brush which doesn’t hold as much product in one swipe. If you want to avoid breaking in the felt tip and the roughness that comes at first, I recommend just squeezing the felt tip between your fingers and gently bend it around to soften it a bit more.3. A long-lasting amount of product. You’d be surprised how long that little “ink well” of eyeliner can last you! Usually the felt tip applicator is the first to go (after a long while of usage) before you actually run out of product. I like that Almay has kept this element of their eyeliner consistent over the years. Those are my 2 cents. Definitely will continue to buy this for years to come. 🙂

NOT WATERPROOF
I needed a WATERPROOF product. Honestly, this is a terrible product. I was taken in by the word waterproof. Lie, deceit. I received this product today, tried it today, after a while, washed it off with water, as if it had never been there. This product is NOT waterproof.I didn’t even suspect that it would be a scam. You can’t even return it. You can only throw it in the garbage. It’s best to read people’s reviews before buying something.

Overall Not Bad
I would say that application is quite easy for the most part. The tip of the applicator could be improved but I found it works well enough. I liked the darkness and how easy the formula applied and held up. I tend to prefer more heavy and dramatic makeup (meaning I can go through a bottle of liner in as little as a couple weeks and at most two months) and I was very pleased that I used this bottle for well over a month before I noticed the bottle was low. This liner is was also relatively very easy to remove at the end of the day and I appreciate that it doesn’t gunk up like some eyeliners do when you attempt to use micellar water. The only downside is I suddenly because VERY allergic and anytime this comes in contact with my face it swells and my eyes begin to water and burn. I do not know why I suddenly became allergic, because I used the product for almost a month before this happened. I’ve also only had allergic reactions to makeup only once prior, years ago, so I was a little confused. Overall, I think this is a nice and cheap alternative and I enjoyed trying it, I just don’t know why I am now allergic.

Easy to apply but not waterproof . I forgot I have it on and I wipe my eyes when I look in the mirror it’s all over by my eyes.

Best eyeliner ever
Iâve been wearing Almay liquid eyeliner for years! Iâm a nurse that works 12+ hour shifts and it lasts all day and beyond! I wear it on my top eyelids and always have a small wing. It dries super fast, the color is on point, itâs not sticky, it glides on smoothly and has a nice sharp point making the lines easy to draw. It is absolutely my favorite ever!

I love this eyeliner so much that when drugstores stopped carrying it, I found it online… I have tried a ton of other brands but I either hate the quality of the liquid OR the shape of the brush. This is the only one that works for me. The brush is the perfect shape of sponge, making it SO easy to apply in the mornings. Seriously! I never mess up. It tends to give a bit of a thicker line than some might like but I would rather think and even than thin and messy.
