Nice looking range hood
Installation was fairly easy besides reworking the 7″ vent to roof. That was the most frustrating. Wiring was easy. Mounting the hood definitely takes two people to hold up the hood, it’s not that it’s heavy, I found it difficult to align the hood without a second person. Overall it was well worth the effort seeing my 36 year old original hood had seen better days. This review is for the 36″ stainless steel hood. Price on the hood was good too. The big box stores were all out of the 36″. Recommend!

Excellent and stylish entry level hood vent for the money!
We purchased our 1980âs ranch style home almost ten years ago and when we bought the house all of the appliances were 1990âs white, including the Broan range hood.Slowly but surely we have finally managed to switch our kitchen appliances over to stainless steel and believe it or not, we waited over two years to finally purchase a replacement range hood in stainless steel to match all of the kitchen appliances.Enter this Broan stainless steel hood vent. Itâs almost an exact replica of the 1990s white one we were replacing (which was utterly filthy with grease, rust, etc. no matter what amount of cleaning you tried).Now I realize this is more of an entry level range hood, but we have a pretty basic kitchen and obviously this hood vent fit the space just fine as the previous white model did.We are very happy with this hood vent, but then again, weâve essentially been using the same model in white for ten years.There are two exhaust speeds, high and low. And an overhead light. The exhaust fan when in operation is most likely much noisier than much more expensive models. But again, itâs what weâre used to.Once we finally have the $ to replace the kitchen cabinets, countertops, backsplash and flooring, we may look at higher end options. But in the meantime, this hood vent does the job, looks nice and is easy to operate.I could definitely see it being a great option for contractors when flipping a home, someone looking to do a minor kitchen remodel on a tight budget, or just someone looking for a reliable hood vent to match their appliances.I would recommend this hood vent to anyone looking for a decent looking, affordable stainless option. You certainly get more bang for your buck with this Broan hood vent!The vent arrived in pristine condition…no dents in the range hood/vent, no rips or tears in the shipping packaging either. Very satisfied with the condition of the vent upon arrival and Amazonâs packing materials.

Good quality, easy to install.
I replaced a (working) 60-year-old GE range hood with this one. It was easy to install and works as advertised. It has one standard light socket (led bulbs recommended) and a two-speed fan. Both are controlled by plastic rocker switches. On high speed, the fan is pretty loud, but I don’t think that can be avoided. I’d rather have a good fan that’s a bit loud than a lousy fan that’s quiet. Please note that if your old range hoid uses a power cord that plugs into a wall outlet, you will need to order a cord, this does not include a wall cord. If yours hooks up to your household wiring, you don’t need a cord. This hood works either vented (hooked up to an exhaust pipe through your roof) or unvented (blows filtered exhaust back into the room). The instructions are very clear, but please read them carefully, perhaps twice, and follow the ones that apply to your installation. If you have a non-vented install, you are supposed to install a second filter which is not included. There is a bundle on this page that includes the power cable and the second filter. You can run it unvented with only one filter, but the air that is discharged into your kitchen will have more oily smoke particles and after several years that will accumulate on everything in the kitchen and all your stuff will have a greasy film on it. You’re supposed to replace the filter occasionally, depending on how much you cook. There are also filters you can put in the dishwasher. I took off a star because the hood has a small ding on the front. The box was fine and it was well-packed, so that sort of suggests it left the factory that way. It wasn’t a big enough blemish to send it back, but now that I know it’s there, its all I can see. Time will tell if it lasts as long as the one it replaced, but this is a good value for the money and seems to be good quality. I got the black steel one and I can wipe it off with a sponge or paper towel.

Beautiful stainless replacement for the old painted over
This is a beautiful stainless steel version of the enameled white one that it replaced. The old one rusted badly and was really looking crappy.The air flow seem to be quite a bit stronger than the old one, but of course the old one was wearing out.While I installed it by myself, it really takes two people to install it. One to hold it up while the other person drills holes and puts in the screws.As this was almost an exact replacement of the old one, most of the holes lined up but not all of them as is an updated versionThis was a vented installation but it can be installed as a non-vented installation. If installing as a vented installation, make sure to have some aluminized tape to go around the ductingThe vent plates are designed to be punched out, but being made of stainless steel, it was quite difficult to punch them out and took vice grips and a heavy screwdriver to pry out and remove the pre-punched vent plate.The wiring box is not the most secure as it’s not totally sealed shut so moisture and grease can enter the wiring box to the right of the fan.Very happy with it. A huge improvement over the previous white one

La campana llega en buen estado y con todo el material para instarla y si, se instala muy facil. Pero no trae lamina protectora, toda la grasa se pega al fondo de la campana; y un electricista tiene que hacer la conexion de la campana (enchufe) porque viene con los cables libres.
