worth every penny and extra details that matter
I was looking for affordable day date watches. I don’t like the designs that put the day next to the date on the right side as they have to pass through a foreign language each day… usually spanish..I did look at citizen Corso and the likes provided by Fossil Relic… the Fossil brand has been reliable for me but I didn’t know relic is their lower end.I got the timex used here on amazon.. I returned quite a few other watches because they didn’t use all stainless steel..Like if you are going to get a watch you want to be able to pass it on or have it be worth something. Timex and citizen have reliability in their reputationAnd both being all stainless were very important there no point to buying pop metal. While the timex has the bezel feature which I use at home when cooking as my timerThe rest of the watch does not come close to the citizen.Online citizen looked odd with the numbers. Ugly maybe..but in real photos in person it is fantastic. The key quality upgrades areThe lumen actually works off any light charging it..the timex lumen is a joke and requires being in direct UV light and then it still fades fastThe case of the citizen is slightly thinner and weighs less.. it’s also go more details on the casing which make it more comfortable against the wrist unlike the timex which is just blocky and straight edge on the sides. The big flaw of the timex is the date gets hidden by the minute and hour hands every morning. And also the timex won’t show it is the next day until about 4amCitizen has a better movement2am in the morning citizen is halfway to the next dayAnd the hands never really block my view of the dateI was at first also focused on finding sapphire crystal but to be honest as an older adult now I haven’t felt the need.I do instacart and still they both are scratch freeAlso the citizen has a better band. It sizes better, has more stiffness and not so floppy like the timex. The timex is hollow at the points that connect to the watch.Citizen is not hollowThis citizen is my everydayI love itIt’s great quality and better designed in every detail and this makes it comfortable and usefulI can wear citizen steel band and it feels fantastic. But I switched both to leather as I want to preserve the steel from scratches

    Simple yet elegant
Simple design to add some class to your outfit. All the different edges reflect light as you move and it seems more expensive than it is. The band moves very smoothly and doesn’t pull arm hair. This makes a great daily wear watch.

    Awesome time piece
Love everything about this watch, except the date dial, the day dail keeps proper day, the watch keeps proper time, the date dial isn’t defective it’s just a pain to have to reset every time a month has more or less days than the dial system, which I know is the case for this type of system on all Timepieces, only have a issue because I spent the money on this Particulate watch because I wanted a no nonsense watch, not pulling the pin to safe battery when in storage (in a glass top case) etc….just put on and go and it fits all those needs for sure LOVE this watch, not the watches fault I didn’t think about the date dial, but that still doesn’t mean I wouldn’t recommend this beautiful Eco Drive watch, I should of thought about just getting a single dial.Only other issue was it took weeks to arrive. All that aside very pleased and I would definitely recommend.

    Great gift!
For father’s day I was given $200 amazon credit to buy my own father’s day gift and ended up purchasing this watch after first purchasing and returning a Seiko 5 (see my review of seller for why I returned it).I LOVE this watch. It’s nice to look at, It arrived exactly as described, and was delivered within a reasonable time frame. Plus, buying from Amazon gave me the full manufacturer’s warranty, plus 1 year (you have to register online) for a total of 6 years.Among the reasons I chose to buy a watch is because I needed an everyday watch to give my “other” watch a break. I knew I wanted a kinetic or eco-drive, but that’s it. I never considered the movement. Knowing now what I know about quartz versus mechanical, I think I would have opted for the quartz movement because of it’s superior timekeeping properties. If I had to say bad things I would say about the watch is fairly large; the material used for all the face instruments seems to only be glow-in-the-dark immediately after exposure to light; and the date is hard to see if you don’t have good eyes. Those issues don’t bother me, but I can see how others would knock the watch for those reasons.
