    great little microwave for work
works great. simple controls and small footprint. only thing i don’t like is the automatic door lock but this would be a good feature around small children

Very functional and nice looking Microwave
It’s Beautiful! Family is quite impressed how the inside color makes the microwave look really clean. So the clock was hard to set, took many tries, but got it in the end. the buttons don’t work easily so theres not making mistakes. I learned to use ‘Time Cook’ and Power to change cooking power level so items won’t boil over. I’ve used the 30-second cook button which worked great. I usually use that after I’ve cooked with power level down, to make sure something is cooked.

    Simple, Basic, Small Microwave
This is the classic, small, cheap, low-power microwave that has graced millions of dorm rooms, office break rooms and the like. If you look carefully, you’ll see that most of these small, 700 watt microwaves have absolutely identical control panels, meaning that the guts of this one and most of the others are likely very similar. I am sure Faberware licenses their name to whoever makes this, and the same factory in China probably makes most of the other ones that compete with it. A low-power microwave seems to be a commodity product at this point. So I would get whatever one is cheapest, in my case it was this black Faberware, but your mileage may vary.Advantages: It’s cheap, it is very compact and good for small spaces, and because it has lower power it is less likely to trip a breaker than a full-sized microwave. This also means it is a good choice for an RV, cabin with a moderate off-grid power system, etc. I confirmed that even a Jackery 1000 can run it for several minutes without overheating, although it actually pulls just a tiny bit over 1,000 watts. The 700 watt rating is the energy going into your food, not how much power the microwave uses, I suppose. But even pulling 1000 watts, it doesn’t completely eat the battery in the Jackery 1000 to run this thing, it goes down 1-2% per minute of operation, meaning you could absolutely power this in a power outage with the big Jackery power station or something equivalent. The disadvantages are simple too: It has a bit less power than a regular microwave so your food will take a bit longer to heat up. It can get stuff just as hot, it just takes a bit longer. That is really no big deal unless you are trying to microwave a frozen dinner and the recipe is designed for a regular, full-power microwave and you’ll have to guess how much more time it will need. More significantly, the oven itself is pretty small, meaning any oversized dinner plate or particularly tall item is not going to fit inside it. But it otherwise has everything a regular microwave has including a small turntable to help your food cook more evenly. Most people will step up to a larger and more powerful microwave as their daily driver. If, for whatever reason, that doesn’t work for you, this thing is fine and it isn’t really that big of a step down from a normal sized microwave.

    Very Nice Microwave
Good size inside. Looks great and works great so far. We bought a Panasonic and returned it in favor of this one because this was superior in every way. One small drawback is that it’s a little noisier than the Panasonic but that’s somewhat minor

    Unit was dead on arrival.
EDIT 12/25/2024: Rating reduced from 5 stars to 1. It would be zero if I could. The unit arrived in a day and there was zero damage to the box. The unit also had no visible damage to the cabinet or the power cord. But it was electrically dead right out of the box. I read the manual and followed the instructions which were few and simple. The display would not light up. The control panel was completely unresponsive. I plugged it into several outlets proven to be working with other appliances. Nothing. It’s just dead. Back it goes. Already processed the return. It’s disappointing. I’d expect at least minimal quality control like plugging the units in to see if they’ll at least power up and the lights come on before they’re shipped out to retailers. Apparently that didn’t happen.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Just for clarity since their are multiple versions in this product listing, I bought the 1.3 cu ft, 1000W version with the stainless steel finish and the curved door handle.A microwave is pretty much like a coffee pot or a toaster oven to me. We use it 99% of the time to…..1.) Heat up coffee or tea.2.) Defrost frozen stuff.3.) Reheat leftovers.4.) Make popcorn. So the question becomes can it do the basics with an easy to use control interface and is it durable / reliable. The answer in this case is yes. This is a direct replacement for the exact same Farberware branded microwave I bought 7 years ago for the exact same price. The only difference is that the original one was black and this one has a stainless steel finish. The styling and control interface is identical except for a couple of feature additions in the new one. But as an offset, the old one had an output of 1100W and this one is rated at 1000W. No big deal. The physical size both inside and outside are identical. That’s critical for me as this thing has to fit in a built in cubby / garage over the counter. And this is the largest unit that will fit I’ve ever found. As for the inside, it will fit a large dinner plate. Good enough. As for the control interface, there is a zero learning curve as it’s almost identical to the one it’s replacing. It has the basics covered…..1.) Time cook.2.) Time defrost.3.) Weight defrost.4.) Power level adjustment5.) 5 presets for popcorn, pizza, dinner plate, potato, frozen veggies, and beverages.6.) One touch cook time from 1-6 min. The old one was 1-3 min.7.) 30 second one touch add by pressing the start button again. It’s obvious that they put some thought into the interface to make it really easy to do what microwaves are used for 99% of the time. If you need to read the manual to use this, well… you need help. LOL, it’s that easy.As for value, the original black one cost me the exact same $135 in March 2018. It’s not dead. It still heats fine. But the timer / clock display flips out intermittently then comes back to life randomly before failing again. Just annoying. And the inside has seen enough wear that its not possible to get it really clean looking any longer. But hey, this thing gets used probably 10 times daily by 4 people on average. And at $135 the original lasted 7 years. That’s about $19/year or $1.60/month. I’m OK with replacing it with a newer version at this point. I got good value out of it.Hopes this helps anyone trying to make a decision.

    good
we just needed a simple cheap m/w. not strong and it’s small, but it works well and we are happy with it.

    Compact but a bit loud
I wonder if there a way to adjust the sound of the buzzer that gives 5 very loud “beeps” when finished cooking. Also, I wish the door closed more quietly, it closes with a loud clank.

I needed a replacement for my small microwave, and this one is perfect. Smaller than I measured using the listed dimensions, which is great.

Quick cook 1-6 minute option. 30 seconds is available too..Blue display is eye appealing. Most of the models that when you pull the door open you have to hold it in place to brace it from sliding forward when you pull the door open. This one opens easy without having to do that.Inside cooking space is more than adequate…It’s an attractive appearance and the display is easy to see.The one thing is that you need to press time-cook before entering the cooking time if you don’t use quick cook…
