A fair and honest first use review
The unit arrived today in good condition. Upon opening the box I observed everything in it’s place and appeared undamaged. Everything was wrapped in bubble wrap and/or plastic bags. After inventory (all parts accounted for) I read the directions, put everything together ( which took about 2 mins ), leveled the unit per the instructions, plugged it in, and walked away for 30 mins. All the reviews I read and videos I watched prior to this purchase all said the same thing, LET IT WARM UP before going further or else you risk inaccurate readings. With the instructions in front of me, I downloaded the phone app (no problem connecting bluetooth) started the app, and entered a “new load”. Here you will enter details such as powder choice, bullet weight, etc and most importantly the LOAD (gr). I will not go further in to the app because it’s pretty straight forward. Now I started the calibration process. Here I came across an error either in the machine programing or the printed instructions. It was written that after you press the CAL key, you would see 50.00 flashing on the display indicating you are suppose to place the 50g weight on the pan. After waiting for it to stabilize, you again press the CAL key and wait for 100.00 to flash before adding a second 50g (100g total). I never got flashing of any kind, so when the 50.00 and 100.00 stabilized, I “assumed” they were suppose to be flashing on moved on in the process. In the end, it calibrated with no issue. Next add the power of your choice and go through the powder calibration. I ran through this process twice just to make sure. This powder calibration basically is a chance for the machine to “learn” the powder you are using and what it it takes to move a certain amount of powder to the pan. OK, now it’s time to put it to the test. I choose to set things up for .223 reloads with my powder of choice being Winchester 748 at 26 grains. I set the machine to “auto” ( I discovered this meant that after you remove the filled pan and put the empty pan back on to the scale, it would automatically start filling the next load ). Ready-Set-Go. First drop into the pan, the machine will display “stable” and the process is done. I took the contents of the pan and dumped it onto my trust digital scale – Perfect. Let’s try it again. Another pan full goes onto the digital scale – Perfect. I ran through this process for 100 rounds measuring every pan on my digital scale. Results: 98 of the 100 were perfect 26.0 and only two were 0.01 over. Pretty dang good in my eyes. I noticed that since the machine had earlier “learned” my powder, on each measurement it would drop powder until it got to either 25.6 or 25.7 before it paused and then “trickled” the last couple of grains. It did this on every single measurement. Is this thing fast ? Not particularly. I set up my trusty digital scale, got my grain spoon and manual trickler, and raced the machine. It beat me every time by a couple of seconds, but when you load a lot in one sitting, it’s nice to sit back and watch rather than the constant “just a little bit more” to get the perfect amount. A suggestion is to wipe the inside of the powder chamber with a dryer sheet to reduce the amount of powder cling on the plastic container. One thing to be careful of is placing & removing the powder pan on the scale. The tube that releases the powder is dead center and just above the pan. You can easily bump the tube and release enough powder grains to effect the total weight, but you will quickly figure out what works for you here. Overall I am happy with it’s performance and would recommend it to those looking for some automation in their lives.

Makes reloading faster
If you want accuracy to less than a tenth of a grain, every time, WITHOUT CHECKING, this not for you. I use this to get very close and then check each load on a more sensitive scale, this is quick and works great. If you are doing rough loads for plinking, this will do fine.Bottom line, this works fine. Saves a lot of time. Do reset as over time the accuracy does drift.

2nd one, still doesn’t work. Sending it back for a 3rd.
1st order from the Frankford Arsenal store via Amazon, the unit could not get stable enough to even calibrate. The Bluetooth functioned though. But could not get it stable enough to even celibate. Submitted refund/ replace request and got the new one 1 day after the request and I mailed my return. Nice.New one arrived today. Bluetooth worked for the first 5 load string but could not reconnect Bluetooth after 20+ times with my phone. Yes I powered off/ on, restarted my phone as well. The second unit DID get stable, DID do powder calibrate well, DID calibrate but the touch screen buttons were horribly inconsistent. I would touch the #2 button and it would register 5. Specifically when wanting to enter say “32.4 grains” it took so long to get the buttons to register with the unit. My phone could not identify the unit from 30′ to 2′. Gave up on Bluetooth.Still the touch screen inaccuracy is just horrible. I tried pens with touch screen pads, finger pressure. It took me 2.5 hours to load 60 rounds of 22-250.I can only guess that the Frankford Arsenal Amazon store has a huge stock of poorly QA’d products. Before I try for another return/ replacement I will call Frankford Arsenal tomorrow and see if they have any advice. These 2 machines clearly have a ghost in the machine. I sold my Lyman version 3 a year ago just because of the 30 minute warm up time. I thought that time would improve things and FA said warm up is about 15 minutes. But the old Lyman NEVER had input errors with the old push buttons. If I pushed “1”, it always recognized “1”. The reviews I have seen are vastly more positive than my experience with these 2 FA units.Otherwise, I bought the FA X-10 press in 9MM, absolutely astounding! I have had 2 FA digital weight measurers, they all gave up the ghost w/in 15 months. My FA digital calipers give up the ghost in a bout 18 months, so now I’m just using analog calipers. From my experience, anything FA digital has been fraught with peril. However the X-10 press has been lights out a stellar experience.

Awesome for the money
Easy to use, powder calculate works well with ball powder and stick powders, very consistent on charges would recommend still having a beam scale to check first loads it is sometimes off a tenth from what target weight is but it is very consistent on charge to charge once set to weight needed just use a beam scale to get started if loading precision loads. It might say 82.4 but actually be 82.3 but it will weigh that charge very consistently if that makes sense. Very good and speeds up reloading a ton

Worked like a charm for about 10 rounds, but then it just started to turn itself off. Really annoying.Read the reviews kinda gives it away when a lot of people have had it replaced not just one, but several times. Thanks but no thanks. Price doesnt matter if it doesnt work.. Im buying a chargemaster instead..
