Great Product

This is genious! It works amazingly every single time. Follow instructions and serve the food soon after the timed steam for best food eva! Easy clean up, set and forget ease. Good but quality lacking
I have purchased 2 of these steamers. I have really liked them because they are easy to use and consistent every time. Most things (potatoes, rice, eggs, etc) generally only take about 20 minutes and cooks perfectly. The digital screen is nice and the fact I can refill the water without removing the trays is good.However, I wish the quality of the plastic was better. I use it pretty frequently but with both Iâve had, the sides of the clear trays crack and the lid handles always break. My son had to 3D print me a new one (in purple) because the original one cracked and broke. There are also a lot of cracks underneath where the handle is. The clear trays are labeled â1â and â2â. If you use â2â for the bottom tray, it will leak water onto the counter because itâs slightly larger than â1â. So now that my â1â tray is cracked itâs virtually unusable unless I want to keep cleaning up water afterward. So overall good steamer but does have some issues.

One broken part
I am very happy with the steamer, but the rice bowl came cracked. I do not want to return the whole thing, but just get a new rice bowl. I have written to both Amazon and Hamilton Beach but have heard nothing yet. With a new rice bowl my review would go higher.

Pretty good!
When my old Black n Decker steamer finally died on me, I wanted a new one. Nope. So I looked. I wasn’t about to buy some of these. It looked like you could barely get a side of fish in some of them. I wanted something I could toss a boatload of stuff in. This was one of the few steamers that had a removeable center rack to allow for expansion. The plastic itself is a fairly soft plastic. It will scratch up if you use a scrubber on it. Use the sponge side to clean it is my advice. The steamer is cooktime + 5 minutes. 5 minutes for it to get up to steaming temp. Which is about average I would rate. The unit fits together in a very solid manner. There’s no steam leaking out of cracks or crevices. So that’s very good. I’ve had some that leaked out of every joint it had. The unit takes about 40 oz of water. I recommend you use filtered water. That helps to cut down on mineral deposits left behind, nevermind improves the taste (no chlorine). Some said that they had mold on it, and I got some white flecks on the bottom, but those are mineral deposits. Not mold. The steamer does get hot enough to do meats such as chicken. I would NOT use it for any meat that is fatty. The reason is because of the water level chamber. There’s no way to get at it to clean it near as I can tell. So use lean meats. Also, rinse it out if you do something that leaves fat behind. That will help. I suspect that peeps that got “mold’ in their steamer either steamed up something fatty, and/or just let it sit there. Pretty much all steamers will get mold if you do something like leave it all nite without cleaning it. Overall, the steamer works very well.

Cooks veggies perfectly but is very light and a bit flimsy.
It works well but takes a bit of experimentation to get the cooking times right, especially when stacking more than one steamer bowl. I have found that putting vegetables requiring a longer cook time, like carrots, in the bottom bowl and others like green beans in the upper works best. It takes a while for the steam to saturate the lower bowl and travel to the upper. But once the optimum cooking time is determined, it does a perfect job. My only complaint is that is very light and feels cheap. The bottom plates for the bowls fit over plastic pins on the bowl base rims which hold them in place, but these seem quite fragile and I’m afraid they won’t last very long. Also, the little water filling drawer is useless for all practical purposes, small and difficult to pull out, so I don’t use it. It’s just easier to fill the reservoir before mounting the bowls. The lighted water level indicator is great and the digital controls work very well. It also has rounded wells in the bottom plates for boiling eggs or supporting corn on the cob placed vertically for cooking. It is also quite versatile and can be configured to cook 2 or (with the third bowl) 3 items separately. For small single item cooking, a single bowl is fine. For large amounts, the bottom plate(s) can be removed from the upper bowl(s) to configure a single, large capacity steaming chamber. It is also quite easy to disassemble and clean.

I was skeptical because of reviews I read but could not find any in my area so bought it anyway, thankfully I didn’t listen to past reviews. It’s great, love it. Not sure why so many complaints about water all over, mine so far never a drop beside steamer, and easy fill up with more water if needed, not sure about the complaint that she could not find the fill up?? It’s well marked. Great to steam corn with the double high steamer. Easy to clean also, steams everything fast.Only downside have to watch steamer closely as finish “ding” sound very faint barely audible unless your standing right beside it, but it goes onto warm mode so at least food does not cool off if you check past done. I can live with this one little issue.

As soon as I plugged it in, there was a loud bang and electric sparkles. Steamer no longer works. Used an adapter that had previously worked with other US devices.Otherwise it looked like a decent purchase but it was either faulty or unsuitable for the use in UK power network.

This item is not intended for use in the UK!It is rated at120Volts and not the 230/40Volts we us in the UK.Comes with a two pin American (moulded) plug. If you were to remove this to put a three pin plug on you invalidate your warranty and would be dangerous!!!!
