Fun game!
I had to buy this as I loved it as a child and wanted my kids to enjoy this game like I did! It is still a great quality game!(I do wish you could store it in the box. Once put together it won’t fit in the box. Not a deal breaker though.)

It’s Hungry Hungry Hippos
Just like you remember from when you were a kid but probably not as sturdy. Still, it has take all of the lever whacking we have thrown at it so far.It still functions the same so all of the problems are still there. Whomever is on the low side wins so get your table or house level for a fair game OR just plop it down and whack away, it’s still fun.

Family Fun
The game includes four colorful plastic hippos, each with its own marble-hungry mouth. Players press a lever to make their hippo gobble up marbles that are released into the central playing area. The game is fast-paced, with the winner being the player whose hippo collects the most marbles by the end of the round. Hungry Hungry Hippos is a beloved classic that offers simple, fast-paced fun. Itâs ideal for younger children and family gatherings where everyone can enjoy some lighthearted competition. While it may lack depth and can be a bit noisy, its charm and easy gameplay continue to make it a popular choice for a quick, engaging game.

Smaller, cheaper version than I remember
I packed up our order version, but saw a Black Friday deals on this – so I got another.First off, like everything else in this world, the game has gotten smaller. I don’t believe the game size has changed too much, but the Hippos are definitely smaller.Second, there is only one yellow marble. Since when?? My old set had one for each hippo. Luckily, I have a bag of extra marbles from Amazon (hopefully they haven’t gotten smaller). Finally, the build on this definitely feels cheaper than my old set. Things don’t snap into place like they used to. One of the hippos sticks when you’re playing (I’m hoping it just needs to be worn in) My old set stores away nicely. You can’t even snap them in anymore for storage. Even the ball tray falls off if bumped.A bit disappointed, but still a fun game.

Classic game
My son is autistic and this is the first toy he runs to at my therapist appointments. He doesn’t play with it the traditional way but I’m ok with that. He does things his own way. He’s happy to have this at home to play with whenever he wants.

Nephew Requested for his Birthday
My nephew loved his Hungry Hippo game! It definitely has changed since I was a kid. We didn’t have the option of taking the heads off and storing everything underneath the base of the game. I was quite surprised to see that this could be done with this game. It sure makes it easier to store and the marbles do not roll over the place because they are contained in a dish that snaps on the bottom if the base. I do feel the craftsmanship is a little on the cheaper side considering the price I paid for it. The plastic it is made out of seems to be a little on the thin side, but the game holds up to the excited pounding from 5 and 6 year olds. Maybe it seems that way to me because my Hungry Hippo game was made in the early ’80s. Everything was thick durable plastic back then, lol. However, buying on Amazon was $10 cheaper than buying it in any store locally. I would post pictures, but my nephew took it to his dad’s house. I will update with pictures if he brings it back. I do highly recommend this product because of the price and cool storage.

I miss the one I had as a kid, base feels cheaply made now
I feel like everything is made so flimsy. I like the little improvements from the original when I was a kid. The storage cup for the marbles is very nice. The detachable hippos is also nice. But the base is terrible. The hippos don’t lock in when they are stored under the base. They are supposed to, you can see the tabs, but because the base is so flimsy and the tabs are so small, they don’t lock into each other so the hippos just lay there and don’t lock in. Makes it harder to get back into the box correctly. Also, our base was not put away properly last time and wasn’t laying perfectly flat, now because the base is so flimsy, there is a permanent wobble because the base has warped and no longer sits flat on the table. I am tempted to throw out the base and try to 3D print my own.The poor base aside, the hippos seem to be pretty sturdy still. Haven’t cracked a handle off yet. We have lost a couple balls already, but that isn’t the games fault. The balls are also kind of cheap. They still have enough flash on them to make them not roll properly. Had to clean them up.

Fun game
This is such a fun game for the whole family. Kids from 5 to 18 will enjoy hours of fun. It was sturdy and not cheaply made at all.

Recomendado.

Amazing game to keep kids busy

Itâs the original one but not as fun/robust as I remember them when I was a kid. Itâs okay and none of my kids really played with it again. A bit disappointing.
