KP200 incorporates XTS-AES 256-bit hardware-based encryption. It also is FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (Pending) certified for military-grade security with enhancements that further elevate the bar for data protection. Its circuitry is covered by a layer of special epoxy that makes it virtually impossible to remove components without damaging them; this tough epoxy stops attacks against the semiconductor components. The drive is designed to be tamper-evident to alert owners. It also incorporates Brute Force password attack protection, and BadUSB protection with digitally signed firmware. Any complaints come from tech illiterate
I’ve purchased two of these Kingston IronKey keypad 200 drives, one with USB-A in 64 GB and one with USB-C in 128 GB and they really are phenomenal to use, plenty intuitive, and very secure in my experience. I also bought the Apricorn on 8 GB to test it out and it’s essentially a clone of this Kingston drive however, I can say I prefer the Kingston IronKey to the Apricorn due to build quality, although they are very close in comparison, and the more updated protection the Kingston model has over the particular Apricorn I purchased. That may not still be the case so compare specs.I read several reviews on this IronKey and, unfortunately, nearly all of the complaints I read were from users who are having a hard time comprehending and using the technology and need a bit of hand holding through the setup and use process. It’s pretty obvious that many of them are memorizing the steps in the instructions to lock/unlock/read/write with this drive instead of understanding how it functions and the meaning behind the feedback it provides through its blinking or steady combinations of blue, red, and green lights. I’m not sure most of those users understand the difference in the drive being locked and charging, unlocked in read/write, unlocked in read only, unlocked in admin, or locked and in setup mode.Personally, I find this drive very easy to use and understand the mode it’s in. The instructions were simple and straightforward. I only wish the Kingston IronKey was made in the U.S. or basically anywhere other than China.

    Outstanding Secure USB FOB!
I originally purchased the 16 GB Ironkey Keypad 2000 about five years ago, and have been using it almost daily ever since without any issues whatsoever. I just recently purchased another 16 GB Ironkey Keypad 200 (identical to the older 2000 version) for my wife to use during her extensive European travels and she absolutely loves it.Yes . . . it is expensive, however, in this case you are definitely getting what you pay for. Rock solid security, and excellent design and build quality. I highly recommend it!

    company blocked usb drives
our company recently blocked usb drives but said this was ok as it was secure if something happened to it. the setup process was a little difficult but once we got it , it works great. once unlocked and put into the computer, it’ll automatically lock when unplugged. very secure device !!

    Does exactly as it says.
Finally a secure usb drive. I have tried many before but the build on this drive is solid. Easy to setup. Follow instructions and you will be fine. It’s on the pricer side of usb drives but for onboard hardware encryption it’s worth the price. Fast data transfers.

Not nearly as good as their larger product. This doesn’t work at all. Totally useless.
For a quick and easy secure encrypted backup. For some reason mine has been difficult to set up and I needed adapters and still can’t get it to work.

You must set the pin before plugging it in
Don’t use the QSG, you need to find a full user guide that explains to LEDs, and have to set to pinYou must set the PIN before you ever plug it into anything, and once you do it is transparent it does not require any software. If you don’t set the PIN it won’t be recognized as a USB drive by anything.Works fine for me on Windows 10, and all my Samsung phone.

    nice blue color, clear keypad
I wanted usb-c and I don’t need a huge amount of storage.I’ve been disappointed with apps to encrypt/decrypt folders/files.I decided to stop the apps and easily lock/unlock a thumbdrive. I’m not sure if I didn’t read to click key symbol after entering key + code to unlock. finally when I started and ended with key symbol it unlocked easily. do write down your passcode or better yet store in Lastpass or similar secure way.Directions were unclear to me how to enter a alphanumeric and I didn’t want to press a key many times to get the right letter, so I just use a numeric PIN long enough and easy enough to enter.when unplugging the thumbdrive from laptop/phone, or better ejecting the device, it locks automatically.
