Worth having on the shelf.
PlyDesign is an excellent collection of designs that span a number of applications and aesthetics. There appears to be a larger portion of designs based on mid century modern styles, which might not be to some people’s taste. Regardless of your preferences, or positive responses to any of the included designs, there’s an element in each of them that is a useful reference for your own work.I don’t look at this as a carpentry recipe book, but more of an idea book with practical steps.There aren’t a lot of books out there that help you to make something a little more refined when using common materials as an amateur with hopes of making something more than a box.

I have decided to build as much of the furniture for my new city loft as possible.l, and this book has been the most helpful.The first chapters of the book give you all the background information you will need about working with plywood, tools and techniques.The rest of the book is a list of projects, each with cut lists and plans, as well as instructions. The plans are adaptable and many serve as great jumping off points for custom designs.I have found this to be the most helpful book on diy furniture, especially plywood based furniture, that I have found on Amazon.

Creative, cool and well documented plans. 70% of the plans are pretty cool, the rest not so much. Worth buying. The plans are shown in good detail, especially if you have access to a CNC machine.

This book is OK. It has a few creative designs but none inspired me. The first several pages were probably the most useful describing how to use, buy, cut, and assemble plywood.

I really like a lot of these projects
I really like a lot of these projects. Some seem a little silly or uninteresting (to me), but I love working with plywood, so this book is inspiring whether I love a particular project or not. If you like building with plywood, I would recommend this book. There’s a pretty wide variety of styles…some more minimalist and some a little more elaborate. Clean lines; nothing too overdone.

Cool stuff!
I can actually see myself making quite a few of these and the bamboo ply at the end is very beautiful and inspirational. My son already made Bubble (desk and drink trolly). Almost all of the pieces are beautiful, functional, sturdy, and easy to make.
