Hunting for this rare gem
As a comic book collector and a board gamer, this is a grway mash up of the hobby.Sad that the quality is lpwer than the average, but itnis understandable and in no way does it make the game unplayable.A great game that I am happy that I could get here in the Philippines.

Set collection in car, drafting straightforward
This game is straight up set collection in car drafting. It doesnât really well with a great thing. This game at the price is a steal. I have in my collection and go back to this one fairly often.

Poor Handling By Seller
The exterior box was worn, dented, the cardboard was chafed in places, and there was had sticky foodover the long edge. I would not buy anything from this Spin Master Games again. The exterior game looks like something that has set on a game shelf for years and has been handled by people who don’t respect games. I had expected a new product to look new when it arrived.

Amazingly fun game! Some of the worst components!
Right off the bat: I REALLY, REALLY LIKE THIS GAME!Now, the components:-Box arrived fresh, in an Amazon bag, and the corners are already showing wear.- Cards, fresh out of the box are already nicked. And I immediately sleeved and protected them- The chips are smaller than a dime and thinner too, very easy to lose if you are not careful.-Some artwork/cards are either blurred or the resolution is not great.-Some key rules are a single, non-highlighted, sentence included in an example. (See: Highlight Track, VERY important).-Mostly just Marvel Cinematic Universe characters (only 8 total).Positives:-Fun at all player counts. I love it solo!-Easy to teach.-After the first time playing, setup and take down is very simple.-Scoring is rather easy.-Lots of opportunities for each player to rise.-4 different kinds of drafting opportunities, so there is a lot to shake up and always learn.As a whole, I recommend this to gamers who will baby and take care of their games. Losing pieces is easy. I, personally, needed to use card sleeves immediately.If you are OK with the inescapable production issues, this is a super fun game. But it will let you down if you are not aware of how fragile it physically is.

Our family are big board game lovers and this is a absolute new favorite with us all. Really fun and unique design and the fact that its real comic book covers makes it even more fun. Very unique style and play. Well worth the investment

I haven’t received mine yet from Amazon because they aren’t shipping yet, but I played my friends he got from Gencon 2024. The game is really fun, and now I’m kicking myself for not getting myself a copy while there. Now you can’t find for retail anywhere and hopefully this ships as promised.I would almost give 4-stars because the token quality is really low, but I 3d printed rings for them for my friend and it really upgrades the game. If you have a 3d printer you will definitely want to do the same.

I had duplicate decks which made this game unplayable. It came banged up. I was so bummed on the quality as this was a gift.

Miscut, misprinted cards made my copy unplayable
I bought mine from BN on release day thinking I was getting a steal of a value. Gameplay seems great, I love drafting, solo play, card games, and Marvel, so slam dunk! But the actual production quality was abysmal. Card stock is super cheap, tokens are very thin, and the actual comic cards, with beautiful art, were cut almost a full centimeter off square, with white edges from the unprinted card stock. This affected all of the 1st deck and half of the 2nd. It affected both sides, so they truly destroyed gameplay, too. Hopefully a second run can address this, as I’ve seen it this way with content creators online too.

Weâve been really enjoying Comic Hunters. Think of it as a more beefed up version of Sushi Go where you will be drafting cards in different ways to create a valuable comic collection. You score points based on the size of your comic collection, what features they have (Is it a #1 issue? Does it feature a character in a new costume?), and which characters are most desirable. If you like the theme of collecting comics, or if youâre a Marvel fan youâll enjoy this one. Each card also depicts a different comic cover, so I imagine it was a bit of a nightmare getting this game licensed with that much artwork. Youâll need a bigger sized table especially for the Convention draft where you have to set out a 5×5 grid of cards.The production quality could be better. Iâve heard some nightmare stories where people had miscut or duplicate cards, but my cards all looked good. The actual card quality is quite poor and definitely wonât survive constant shuffling, so I would STRONGLY recommend using card sleeves (I use standard Ultra Pro Pro Mattes). The tokens are kind of flimsy, made out of thin cardboard, but they are serviceable for what they do as they just sit on the board. The game box was a little banged up as it just had clear stickers keeping the box closed as opposed to full shrink wrap. Keep in mind though, that I bought this game for $33 Canadianâ¦which is kind of a steal for a boardgame. Sure, I would have gladly payed $5-10 more if it had better components and card quality, but I think itâs still definitely worth it for comic fans who enjoy drafting and set collection.

I suspect something wrong with this gameâs production quality control. I received a copy that looked clearly used. The box seal was open and the scorepad was missing. Fortunately I was able to return it within the returns window. This game does not seem to be up to scratch. Stay away.

It’s a good game, just a shame the company splurged on getting Marvel trademarks and created a card game with cards that are just okay quality and overly thin cardboard chips. Not sure what they were thinking. In my opinion when the main feature of your game is a deck of cards you should make it good quality.

Comic Hunters is a hilarious and entertaining game that puts a fun spin on comic collecting. Youâll be drafting cards in clever ways to create the ultimate collection, earning points for #1 issues, characters in new costumes, or the hottest heroes of the moment. The theme is a delight for Marvel fans and comic lovers alike, especially since each card features a unique comic cover (kudos to the licensing team; that must have been quite a task!). The gameplay is engaging, but be prepared for a spacious table for the Convention draftâs 5×5 card grid. However, the production quality could use some improvement. The cards are thin and wonât hold up well to much shufflingâdefinitely invest in sleeves. The tokens are made of flimsy cardboard but do the job. My copy arrived in good condition, although Iâve heard of some miscut or duplicate card problems. At C$34.99, itâs pricey but a bargain considering the fun and unique theme. Sure, I would have been willing to pay a bit more for durable cards, but even as it stands, this game is a winner. If youâre a comic fan or enjoy drafting and set collection games, Comic Hunters is a must-try. It has quickly become a family favorite for usâfun, thematic, and wonderfully unique. ð¨ð

I consider myself pretty versed with boardgames and am the defacto rule reader/explainer in our household when it comes to playing new games. With that said I found myself having to take a pause and re-read the directions a few times to understand the flow of this game.The best way to think of it is that it’s played in phases and for your first playthrough, it’s probably best to tackle the rules of each phase on a one-by-one basis.There is a great deal of strategy involved in each phase of comic book collecting, as well as the overall strategy needed to enhance the value of your final collection. For newer gamers, this game may not be particularly enjoyable at first and could require a few playthroughs to fully grasp.As for the actual game materials I’ll echo what has been shared and that the quality of the game board is mid at best. Card stock is okay but if you have a player that is a little rough with handling cards they’re certainly get dinged up.
