Valuable and Instructive
This is an excellent resource book. I’ve been lifting since 1987 and often get stuck in a rut. Sometimes I like to pick up a book like this as inspiration. While I had previously heard of most of these exercises (not the Bradford Press or the Suitcase Deadlift though) it was good to be reminded of their specifics. I liked the descriptions and also the pictures used for individual movements. The book provides solid and serious advice for beginning and intermediate weight lifters.

Best book on why join a gym
Even though it is out of date, there is a lot of good information on all the workout equipment that should be in the gym and how to use the gym. Rather than buying exercise equipment that you may not use, join your local neighborhood YMCA or community center.

Forget it says “men” – women can use it too
I forgo nothing when it comes to figuring out how to get myself into better shape. Women magazines just don’t give me the “umph” I need to turn my body around. Figuring out how to flavor my water and get “hot” in the bedroom for his pleasure doesn’t give ME pleasure. My pleasure is pumping iron – and my husband … well … he’s a side thought. Just kidding. This book is GREAT – Love it. Buy it. It’d cost you a FORTUNE to get these moves from a trainer. You can also supplement this exercise book with U-tube videos to see the moves in motion. Or – just use the book. It ain’t that difficult people.

thorough and informative
Men’s Health Gym Bible educated me on what different gym equipment looked like, how to use them effectively, and how I could best use them to get specific body results. I needed this book to know how to use the gym since membership is not cheap and I dont want to throw away my money. I would highly recommend this book. It’s inexpensive and very handy to anybody who needs to learn about gym equipment and how to put together a cusomized gym workout routine.

Pass on this title
I was originally interested to see what the book had to offer. Well, it is really a lacking book. Lots of fluff, nothing really all that new or useful. I skimmed it because I frankly got bored with it rather quickly. Nothing really caught my attention and made me want to read more. Purchase another title, don’t waste your time with this one.

Very happy!

I am quite experienced with weights now and was basically looking for a book full of exercises to vary my routine a bit. The first chapters talk about “what to look for in a gym” and things like that, which is obviously targeted at a complete novice. As it goes on, there are hundreds of exercises throughout, well illustrated and explained, and suggestions about what exercises you should be doing depending on your experience. The back also includes workout logs and routines you could try depending on your goal. I would definately say its as close to a gym bible as you are going to get and would advise this to complete beginners or more experienced trainers looking to tweak their routine and increase their gains.

Lots of great work out tips
by Christopher Price
This is a great book for anyone with very little/none knowledge about how to go about life in a gym. The book starts by providing general information about what gym to choose and why, and things to look out for when looking at gym contracts. The it goes very in depth about what training can be done just using body weight, free weights and cardio machines giving plenty of information around wht exercises can be done and where this is exercising.I do feel though that the book doesn’t give enough information, the title would suggest that if you walked into any gym after reading this you would be able to operate every single piece of equipment they have to offer and be built like Arnie in a matter of months. However this isn’t the case. If you are looking to lose weight (cardio) and use freeweights for many different exercises, then this book is an ideal place to start. But in terms of being able to really learn about a gym before using machines such as a resitiance machine for example. Asking for an Induction is probably your best bet.Still a good book, and for the price, it’s a bargain.
