Unbelievable watch. You won’t be disappointed!
Overall, for the $45 I spent on this watch, I feel like I won the watch lottery. It looks equally amazing in jeans and t-shirt as it does in my suit and tie when I go to work. It has an understated coolness/elegance to it. I definitely recommend this quality, reliable, beautiful Timex Expedition Scout 43mm as a daily wear watch or as an occasional wear in your collection rotation!I have an extensive watch collection (regular person watches, nothing “luxury” … that’s a laughable term for a watch, IMO). I have all categories of quartz watches; dive, pro dive, dress, casual, vintage/retro, knock-about, etc., with all bracelet/strap types and I was surprised that this watch has emerged as my absolute favorite of all of them. I think it is the perfect size (43mm wide and 11mm thick case) and the black coated brass case is gorgeous, lightweight, and durable. The main numbers and indices are large and very readable at a glance. Readability is further helped by the contrast between the black dial and the white number and indices. The dial includes an inner circle of smaller numbers that show military time, which is useful. The seconds hand has an orange tip, making it very easy to see against the background. The medium brown leather strap has beautiful contrast stitching and a case-matching black buckle, which I thick looks amazing. The leather seems to be good quality and I think it will look even better as it ages and becomes softer and wrinkled. There is no lume on the watch but it comes with Timex’s excellent Indiglo lighting, which works just fine in the dark. The date window kind of blends in with all the numbers and indices but once you get used to where it sits on the dial, it’s no problem to see. This watch looks SO MUCH BETTER in real life than in these photos. In fact, the case almost looks gray in the photos, but it’s a very nice dark black color in real life. It has a mineral glass crystal, which is fine and expected for the price, but you could easily replace that with sapphire if you ever wanted to. The movement is a reliable Myota quartz movement.

    Great, simple watch
I’ve had this watch for just one day at this point, but so far, I’m in love with it. It’s easy to read, a good size (I have fairly thick wrists), and great visibility at night. For the look and style of it (the matte black with the leather band looks awesome) it’s an amazing price.

    Surprisingly Good
I’ll admit I’m a watch fanatic and have WAY more watches than I should. I’m very protective of most of them, but my collection includes a couple of “beaters” – watches that I don’t mind putting in harm’s way out in the yard or in the garage. That category already had a 40mm version of the Timex Expedition quartz, which filled the bill nicely, but the deal on this newer model was such that I couldn’t pass it up. And, as the title suggests, it’s actually quite good. At 43mm it’s a little larger than I prefer on my 7.5″ wrist, but again it’s a beater not a fashion statement. It wears comfortably, comes with a decent leather strap, and has excellent legibility. Although comfortable, I don’t expect the strap to stand up to much abuse. But, with 20mm lugs, it won’t be hard to replace. The case has good heft to it and is finished in a flat black. It has a very “ruggedly casual” vibe to it.The caseback is the press-on type. Water resistance is claimed at 50m, which means you’ll probably be okay walking in the rain or washing your hands while wearing it, but that’s about it. If you change your own batteries it will take a CR2016 when the time comes. Accuracy is very good, but no points for that as it’s to be expected with a quartz. I was pleased to see the sweep of the second hand matches up with the indices (most of the time), a small thing which can be problematic with some cheaper watches. The red tip on the second hand is a nice touch. Although it looks like there is lume that has aged to a nice patina, there actually isn’t any lume on the hands or dial. That’s okay, this is an Indiglo so a push of the crown lights up the backlighting. It does require pushing the crown with your free hand, and the light only stays on as long as the crown is depressed. It would have been a nice feature if the light stayed on for a few seconds after actuation, though. All in all, I’m impressed with this watch. So much so that I’m pretty sure I’ll feel badly the first time I bang the heck out of it in the garage. Somehow I don’t think the watch will care.

    Very nice looking affordable watch
Item arrived new and unworn. As usual the packaging took a beating during shipping, but watch was fine, so far. Dial is visible even in low light, because of the black/cream contrast. You really only need the Indigo light if it’s almost pitch black. The leather band seems to be very nice quality. I’ll be applying a little watered down left over coffee to tone the white stitching to more of a cream/tan to better match the dial. The hands are not luminous, despite what the item description says. It’s keeping good time so far, and fits my wrist nicely in an unobtrusive way. Only negatives so far are the erroneous item description, and I wish both of the leather strap retaining loops were moveable. the one nearest the clasp is sewn in, making it kind of tight to get the strap in their for my big fingers.

The outer part of the watch is larger but fits good.
Bigger than the older watches Timex sold years ago. But so far very good and fits my Rist just fine.Thank youJoe Adam

I got this watch and often wear it when I travel. First of all, it tells the time perfectly and it is easy to set (it’s a Timex, after all.) However, an important reason I bought this watch is that it doesn’t attract attention because it has a simple, low-key look. The low-key look comes from its basic black face and the leather strap. The watch looks nice and the leather strap feels good to wear. However, when I wear it, I do not feel anyone will notice it and want to steal it. As well, this watch is inexpensive so if I ever did lose it, I could easily replace it. Overall, this is my favorite travel watch.

Have had field watches before and this would be ideal for anyone looking for an entry level daily watch you do not have to be worried about keeping pristine. At its price, if you end up using it for a year or two (as I expect they would very easily last for) then it money well spent.
